Best Cookies in Paris: Top Cookie Shops You Need to Try

A Time Old Recipe

Cookies have been around in some form or another for as long as the concept of baking itself. Of course, the emblematic chocolate chip cookie is far more contemporary, owing its original recipe to Ruth Graves Wakefield from the Toll House Inn. Today, there’s some serious competition amongst bakers in the culinary world capital, so here are our picks for the best cookies of Paris. Our favorite is at the end!

Mini Cafe - Doughiest

A very doughy texture, balanced sweetness and an original selection of flavors makes Mini Cafe a lovely cookie shop. Its rustic interior decor makes for a lovely backdrop to enjoy a coffee and cookie combo in.

Their generous chocolate portions will satisfy the biggest cravings, and if you like a thick cookie, this makes for a great stop.

Delambre - Sweetest

Creamy and soft cookies filled to the brim with sugar and available in a wide range of flavors are on the roster at Delambre. Their inspiration comes from ‘New York style cookies’, and it shows in their newspaper packaging and the design of their bakery.

They also had some seasonal specialties available when we visited, so there are sure to be new cookies regularly!

Creme - Crumbliest

You’ll find crumbly cookies with varying levels of sweetness depending on the flavor (within a small selection proposed) at Creme Cookies.

With a slightly Mid-Century Modern vibe to the interior and a great location in the city, it makes for a charming place to satisfy one’s sweet tooth.

Ben’s Cookies - Chunkiest

Ben’s claims to use ‘CHUNKS not chips’, and they absolutely keep their word. They’re gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside cookies and they’re perfectly sweet.

They had the widest variety of flavors, and despite being one of the most generous, they were also the least expensive.

Our favorite: Puffy - Best of the Best

This cookie shop is our team’s pick for the best cookie in Paris by unanimous vote. Perfectly crispy, soft and gooey, and with recipes to die for. In every way imaginable (with no personal bias, of course) it is the perfect cookie.

If you get the occasion while in town, make a stop at Puffy’s for a devilishly sweet treat.

Last Crumbs

While it isn’t a French classic, cookies transcend tradition and should be enjoyed wherever they can. Thank you for reading to the very end of this article, we hope that it’ll help in your quest for the cookie of your dreams in Paris.

Are cookies in Paris baked on site?

Are cookies in Paris less sweet than in the US?

Generally, yes. Parisian cookie shops often reduce sugar levels and rely more on chocolate quality and texture rather than sweetness alone. But don’t worry you’ll find your share of sweetness.

How long do fresh cookies last?

Fresh cookies are best eaten the day of purchase. When stored properly, they can last 2–3 days, though texture will change as they cool and dry.

Do Parisians actually eat cookies, or is this just for tourists?

Cookies are widely eaten by Parisians, especially students and young professionals. They’re viewed as an everyday indulgence rather than a special-occasion dessert.

For gooey, soft-centered cookies, Puffy and Ben’s Cookies are top choices in Paris. Both are known for generous portions and molten chocolate interiors.
