If you want to experience Le Marais like a local, this is my go-to itinerary. Charming streets, well-timed coffee breaks, and places where you can just slow down and enjoy the moment. An easy itinerary to wander, eat well, and soak up the unique energy of the neighborhood.
1. Coffee Time - Araku
To start what better than get a coffee at Araku, right next to the Marché des Enfants Rouges. It’s one of my favorite coffee stops in the Marais. With its beautifully crafted drinks and a calm atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to begin the day.
2. Art Moment - Picasso Museum
Then, I recommend heading to the Picasso Museum for a cultural break. The collection is impressive, it holds one of the largest public collections of Picasso’s work in the world, with more than 5,000 pieces! From paintings and sculptures to drawings, ceramics, and personal archives, it’s well worth a visit.
3. Lunch Break - BigLove
For lunch, BigLove is my go-to suggestion. The vibe is lively, the plates are generous, and it’s a great place to slow down for a proper meal. Their Italian-inspired dishes and sunny terrace make it a strong mid-itinerary pause.
4. Shopping & History - Uniqlo
This Uniqlo is worth stopping by for more than just shopping. It’s set inside an old gold factory that was beautifully restored, and the contrast between the architecture and the modern store is striking.
5. Vintage Shopping - Système Solère
Système Solère is one of the best vintage stops in the area. The selection feels curated without being intimidating, and it’s the kind of place where you can actually find something unexpected. It’s a great address for anyone wanting something beyond the usual boutiques.

6. Hidden Garden - Jardin des Rosiers Joseph Migneret
In the middle of the Marais, this hidden garden is a quiet escape. Set behind a row of 17th-century hôtels particuliers, the Jardin des Rosiers feels like a peaceful courtyard, with lawns, shaded paths, and classic French garden charm. I always recommend taking a short break here before continuing the walk.
7. Time for a snack - Nèulo
📍46 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie
I like to end this itinerary on a sweet touch. Nèulo is a modern pâtisserie known for its flan. From classic vanilla to more creative flavors like pistachio or chocolate, the selection is generous and delicious! It’s the perfect place to grab a slice and a coffee before wrapping up your walk through the Marais.
Enjoy the walk!
this itinerary is one of my favorite ways to experience the Marais — a mix of culture, good food, charming streets, and small hidden breaks along the way. I hope it gives you a fresh way to explore the neighborhood, whether you follow it step by step or simply take inspiration from a few stops.
