In a Christmas Market:

There are many Christmas markets around Paris, of varying sizes and different themes. Here’s our article with the top 5 Christmas markets of 2025.

In Little Boutiques:

The charming streets of Paris are filled to the brim with family-owned boutiques selling all sorts of crafts and goodies, so no matter the tastes of your gift recipient, you’re sure to find just the right thing.

In Big Department Stores:

The famous department stores of Paris put on their best displays, and this year is no exception. Shop for local products or from your favorite luxury brands while you bask in the decor of the season.

A Christmas Ride:

Many types of driving tours are offered in Paris, so no matter your spirits this season, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.

By Land:

Big Bus Christmas Lights Tour:

The famous hop-on hop-off buses of Paris will be running a special Christmas circuit while Paris is decked in tinsel and twinkle lights. You definitely need to bring a pair of earmuffs and gloves if you’re on an open air bus, as it can get very chilly on December nights, but if the cold doesn’t scare you, it can make for a really unique perspective on the lovely decorations of our city’s streets.

Private Deux Chevaux Tour:

If you’d rather opt for a more intimate experience, many guides propose tours in vintage Deux Chevaux cars with bench seating, convertible roofs and comfy blankets to keep you warm. Since they’re private, you can organize the exact drive you’d like to take, catching all of the main attractions or exploring your favorite neighborhood under a new light.

Private TukTuk or Bike Tour:

The most economic and rustic option—but a very fun one—is to taking on the streets of Paris by bike or TukTuk. These quaint vehicles will cart you off to see the lights of the city with the wind in your hair and a sparkle in your eyes.

By Sea:

Seine River Cruise:

Gliding along the river Seine, looking up at the monuments of the city and basking in their seasonal lights—what more can you ask? The numerous river cruises of the city are a popular attraction for good reason: they offer a view that can be found nowhere else. And since the river runs straight through the heart of Paris, you won’t miss out on your favorite monuments.

Private River Boat:

In the same vein as the driving tours, there’s a more intimate option: Private boats that run on the Seine, where you can invite your friends and family to enjoy a lovely time in an intimate setting. Experiences range from under the deck in a cozy cabin to right on the bow with the mist of the wake floating in the air. These boats are certainly more expensive, but can be well worth the price if shared with a good group of people.

Take to the Ice:

What better way to have fun in the frosty winter than to take on a nice rink?

Christmas Market Rinks:

Many of Paris’s Christmas markets propose ice skating rinks right in the heart of the action. They’re a great option if you’re already heading there, and they’re usually quite accommodating for the kids. You can find them at the Tuileries market, the Villette market, and smaller Christmas villages around town.

Rooftop Rinks:

The Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussman have put up ice skating rinks on their rooftops, offering incredible views and amazing photo-ops. Just be sure to reserve in advance, because they’re quite popular and both require an online reservation.

The Grand Palais des Glaces

The Grand Palais has built a massive ice skating rink straight into their 18th century Beaux-Arts architecture, with a gigantic disco ball in the middle. It’s likely the most impressive ice skating rink by far, and if you love ice skating it’s a place you don’t want to miss.
